Pro Poly of America (one of the parent companies of PolyBilt) was founded in 1991 with the goal of manufacturing the finest copolymer water and foam tanks for the fire service industry.
In 1997, this technology was used to create PolyBilt. The patented Bent Edge technology, Polyprene material, and quality workmanship are combined to provide a proven superior water and foam tank for vehicles around the world.
PolyBilt has taken the features and benefits captured in the Polyprene tank and evolved the total solution for vehicle body construction. With the patented design of integrating a tank and a truck body, PolyBilt has captured the attention of end-users with impact resistance, lightweight design, superior strength, maximum storage with the elimination of wasted space, and a beautiful paint finish.
Following this long history of copolymer vehicles in the USA, John Dennis Coachbuilders built the first PolyBilt vehicles in the UK in 2004 for Gloucestershire, Essex and Devon Fire and Rescue Services. PolyBilt's European launch was at the international fire show in Hanover, Interschutz, in spring of 2005. Since then many of the UK's blue chip companies and at least half of the UK's fire services now have PolyBilt bodies on their vehicles. John Dennis Coachbuilders is the UK arm of PolyBilt Europe.
